My Approach
Approach to treatment

1. When a person comes to the clinic, it is because their body has been pushed beyond the normal limits, probably due to repeated stresses, such as emotional upset, poor nutrition or chronic injury. Their body is not functioning optimally and not able to restore its own equilibrium. This results in pain or illness.

2. During the course of the acupuncture treatment, specific diagnostic assessments are done to determine the nature of the imbalance (through pulses and hara). A broad range of techniques are used in the acupuncture treatment. These all have the common purpose of regulating the blood and energy flow of the body so that its ability to heal itself is maximized.

3. An important goal in Japanese acupuncture is to match the right amount of treatment to the needs of the patient. This is determined by the person’s constitution, their symptoms and their life circumstances.
