About Anthony
Anthony studied Traditional Chinese Medicine for four years at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1997 to 2000. After this, he completed a medical internship in Hangzhou, China. He was introduced to the Japanese models of acupuncture through Paul Movsessian, completing post-graduate courses in the Manaka and Toyohari (Meridian Therapy) models. He is very interested in developing his skills and knowledge in this field and participates in monthly meetings with his colleagues for his professional development.

He is a member of AACMA and has full indemnity insurance. He is a provider with most private health funds and is a member of the Toyohari Association. Currently he is undertaking a two year course in Advanced Toyohari (Meridian) Training. He has been practicing acupuncture from his clinic since 2001.

Anthony is also a Registered General and Mental Health Nurse. Before studying Traditional Oriental Medicine, he worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Mental Health in the inner west of Sydney for 12 years. He has completed post-graduate studies in Clinical Drug Dependency and worked in the area of drug and alcohol dependence. With his grounding in both western and oriental medicine, he believes in the combination of these two models for the ultimate health of the patient.

Qualifications and Associations

  • Four-year Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1997 to 2000.
  • Clinical medical internship in Hangzhou, China, in 2001.
  • Post-graduate courses in two Japanese schools of acupuncture, the Manaka and Toyohari (Meridian Therapy) models, at UTS, Sydney. Currently he is undertaking a two year course in Advanced Toyohari (Meridian Therapy) Training.
  • Toyohari Association member, involving monthly branch meetings with Sydney members, and annual training with his teachers from Japan.
  • AACMA member (with full indemnity insurance).
  • Registered Nurse. Anthony has a background as a Registered Nurse and worked 12 years in the community as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in mental health.
  • He has been in private acupuncture practice since 2001.
